SOLID BLOCK PARQUETRY
As the name suggests it's solid throughout, & is available in a variety of sizes & species.
Parquetry blocks are directly adhered to the subfloor & arranged in whatever pattern or feature you desire. Once the parquetry has been laid and enough curing time has elapsed, the sanding and finishing process will begin. This process takes minimum 3 days and can be finished in the sheen level of your choice. Oak is considered the "blank canvas" for custom stains & finishes. Australian species can't be lime wash or grey wash but can be stained & finished successfully.

Herringbone parquet is a classic European pattern that is made from blocks and assembled on a right angle that creates the typical V shape. While the pattern was used in interiors from Roman times though the Middle Ages, it was only in the 16th century that the design began to be used in wooden floors. Herringbone is known to be one of the first parquet pattern developed in Europe. In 1539, Francois the first, King of France, used this design on is Fontainebleau castle in Paris. It was designed and produced by Italian craftsman whom Francois had hired away from Italy and immediately started a fashion in patterned wood flooring.
Chevron parquet (also know as Hungarian point) is a classic European pattern that is made from blocks cut at various angles. This angle difference changes the way the light reflects on the rows and gives the floor a more directional feel.It was made popular by well-known Baron Haussman, when mandated by Napoleon III to renovate Paris buildings and parks. Nowadays, this pattern is still widely used in Parisian apartments.
